PRPA was honoured to attend the 12th Annual Salmon Festival at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre on May 22 and 23rd. The celebration brought the community together to honour the arrival of salmon.

Hosted by the Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Dancers & Society, the event featured cultural performances with song, dance, and drumming that celebrated the rich traditions and multicultural spirit of our region.

#TBT to 2023 when the community of Prince Rupert celebrated the opening of the North Coast Ecology Centre, which is housed inside a repurposed shipping container.

Thanks to a partnership with the Prince Rupert Port Authority`s Community Investment Fund, the @northcoastecology centre has been able to exhibit a hands-on area that highlights local terrestrial, marine and freshwater species, and their habitats.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) announced today structural updates and additions to its executive team, solidifying the Port of Prince Rupert’s mandate to enable Canadian trade and deliver reliable and sustainable gateway operations.

The updated structure is designed to strengthen leadership across key functions and support PRPA’s priorities.

“This executive team brings the experience, strong leadership, and depth we need to support the continued growth of trade through the Port of Prince Rupert,” said Kurt Slocombe, President and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Rupert Port Authority. “Together, we will focus on safe, efficient operations, strong partnerships, and the long-term success of this gateway for the benefit of the community and the country.”
